Cynthia Anderson, MD, Joins Emory Radiation Oncology
Atlanta - Cynthia Anderson, MD has joined Emory University's Department of Radiation Oncology as an assistant professor.
”Dr. Anderson is an outstanding and dynamic young physician,” says Dr. Walter Curran, professor and chair of radiation oncology. We look forward to utilizing her expertise to expand the image-guided radiation therapy program at Emory University Hospital Midtown.”
Dr. Anderson has conducted research testing radiosurgery and evaluating new therapies for patients with brain and spinal tumors and gastrointestinal cancers. While in training at Emory, she published a number of peer-reviewed research papers on prostate and rectal cancer patient outcomes as well as on tumor imaging.
Dr. Anderson joins Emory from an independent practice group in Jacksonville, Florida. She trained at Emory University for both medical school and radiation oncology residency. She served as chief resident in her final year of residency.
